The Fitters Visit
First things first
Some one will be required to hold the horse and answer any questions the fitter might ask
All equipment such as halter lead rope need to be in safe working order
Horse must be in sound condition and able to be ridden on the day
Flat surface where the horse can be safely tied up or held on
Shade and if possible shelter from the rain
A flat area that the horse can be walked/trotted in a straight line
An area where the horse can be ridden if you need to book the arena make sure to book enough time to allow for multiple rides especially in the case of new saddles
If you are having a new jump saddle fitted make sure to have jumps ready to test any short listed saddles.
The rider needs to be present at the fitting but may choose not to ride at their discretion
If the rider chooses to ride they will need to be competiant and ride safely
The rider will also need to be suitably attired including boots, and correctly adjusted and well-fitting riding helmet
any items that you will be using with your saddle including breastplates, saddle cloths, numnahs, pads, risers, girths, irons and stirrup leathers, etc.
The horse should be presented in a well groomed condition
